$5 Gold Half Eagles are one of the first gold coins to be issued by the United States of America. After the authorization of Act of April 2, 1792, these coins were minted by the United States Mint from 1795­-1929. During its 134-­year journey, the Half Eagle saw various changes in its designs starting with the Turban Heads, Draped Bust, Classic Head, Liberty Head, and ending in Indian Head.
