This 1847 C $5 Liberty Head Half Eagle Gold Coin NGC AU Details will make a fantastic addition to any precious metals collection. As the Charlotte Mint is no longer operating, this makes any coins produced from this location very rare.

The obverse features a left-sided bust of Lady Liberty encircled by 13 stars and the mint mark "C" just below. Inscriptions include the phrase "LIBERTY" on her hairband and the year of mintage.

The reverse side shows a bald eagle with a patriotic shield on its chest and its wings spread open. In its talons are a bundle of arrows and an olive branch. Inscriptions include "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and the denomination.
