James Earle Fraser designed the images on this historical silver piece. SilverTowne Mint is a private company operating since 1949. The mint produces high-quality silver bullion products.

The obverse features the profile of a Native American on a proof-like background. Interestingly, the Native American image first appeared on Fraser’s Buffalo Nickel and Indian Head Nickel. In addition, the nickel seems as if pressed into the bar itself. The Native American profile represents three Native American Chiefs from different tribes. The tribes include Two Moons of Cheyenne, Big Tree of the Kiowa, and Iron Tail of the Lakota Sioux. The obverse also reads “LIBERTY,” “.999 FINE SILVER,” and “TEN TROY OUNCES."

The reverse shows an enormous Black Diamond, a 1500 pound Bison. Additionally, the Bison (Buffalo) is on proof like finish with a criss-cross waffle pattern. Fraser sketched this image while visiting the Central Park Zoo. The reverse also reads “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”
