Designed by Daniel Thorne, this gold bar features a depiction of the Three Graces statue. First carved by Antonio Canova, the statue depicts Zeus’ three daughters Euphrosyne, Aglaia, and Thalia, each thought to have a gift to bestow upon humanity. In the early 19th century, during a resurgence of interest in classical art, Willian Wyon reimagined the Three Graces to represent the united nations of England, Ireland, and Scotland. The imagery on this gold bar pays homage to Wyon’s original design.
