This rare 0.55 oz Chinese Sycee Yuanbao Shaped Ingot is now available from Bullion Exchanges. The Sycee (the romanization of Cantonese for “fine silk”) or Yuán bǎo (Mandarin pinyin for ‘coin pouch’) is typically found in either an elliptical or oval boat shape. Denominational values were determined by the Chinese systems of weights called taels. Modern Chinese currency is still called “Yuan” which translates to round. In Feng Shui, gold Yuanbao is used as a talisman for attracting wealth and good fortune.
