A Kingfisher bird of prey native to Australia and New Guinea, the kookaburra dwells in a range of habitats. Found in both humid forests and arid savannas, kookaburras can also inhabit suburban areas with tall trees. Out of the four known species of Kookaburras, the most famous is the Laughing Kookaburra. Its call is commonly used as a sound effect in various films, TV shows, and video games. Its distinct call can also be heard at theme park rides in Disney World.
