The Market Review: In the precious metals world, after yesterday’s massive climb, the price of gold peaked around midnight at $1,366.50 and has come slightly down to trading where it was yesterday at $1,357.50. The U.S. stock market is trading higher based on earnings from positive earnings by Caterpillar. The U.S. Dollar Index continues to fall to a 3-year low hanging on at 88.72.
Bitcoin is slightly down and trading at $11,229, a far cry from one month ago when the price had ballooned to more than $17,000. The cryptocurrency world is beleaguered by too much volatility but hopefully, this holding pattern spells better days to come.
In politics, President Donald Trump is in Davos for the World Economic Forum where he is expected to speak and meet with world leaders.
Today, we’re expecting the Weekly Jobless Claims, New Home Sales, and Leading Economic Indicators report to come out.
