The reverse side of the coin portrays a heraldic America Bald Eagle behind a shield. The eagle clutches olive branches and arrows in its talons. The shield has thirteen stripes to signify the original thirteen colonies. The field above it is blank, but thirteen stars do appear above the eagle. These burnished Silver Eagle coins have a matte-like finish.
