2021 Canada 2.03 oz 100th Anniv of Bluenose Proof Silver 7-Coin Set

This special commemorative Canadian coin set is struck with .9999 pure silver, honoring the Canadian icon of the Bluenose ship. Three of the seven coins in the set contain selective 24K gold plating over the pure silver coin. This Canadian coin set consists of the special silver Canadian coin and the Canadian $2 coin, a second Canadian dollar coin, 50 cent coin, 25 cent coin, commemorative Bluenose 10 cent coin, and 5 cent coin. Additionally, only 20,000 sets were made, so they might not last very long!

The ship commonly called the Bluenose was officially named “The Queen of the North Atlantic,” and it was a Grand Banks finish and racing gaff schooner. Its masterful engineering, thanks to William J Roué, is why it was so famous. The feats this ship pulled off would not have been possible without the ingenious design by the self-taught engineer. This Canadian dollar coin honors both the historic ship and the architect. Additionally, the Bluenose was such a remarkable symbol that it became Nova Scotia’s provincial mascot. Later, its fame grew to become a significant Canadian icon entirely.
