U.S. Dollar vs Precious metals
Gold and silver prices ended the session higher and scored five-month highs yesterday. The gold market continues to see an updraft from safe-haven demand amid a rise in geopolitical tensions.The key outside markets on Friday with saw the U.S. dollar index trading lower following Trump’s negative remarks on the greenback. All US stocks are closed on Friday.

The three main U.S. indexes ended the week in negative dynamic: S&P 500 2328.95 (-0.68%) and NASDAQ Index 5805.15 (-0.02%), Dow Jones Industrial Average 20,453.25 (-0.67%), and U.S. stock and bond markets are closed on Friday in observation of the Good Friday holiday. Thursday was the final trading day this week and also the unofficial beginning of first quarter earnings season.
The investors have been largely focused on geopolitical headlines and at the end of the week the tension was even worse after news that the U.S. military dropped its largest non-nuclear bomb on an ISIS tunnel complex in Afghanistan.
Energy stocks led the broad decline, which gathered momentum in the final hour of trading ahead of the long Easter holiday weekend. The slide marked the lowest close for the stock market since Feb. 13 and came on a day when several major banks reported their latest quarterly results, kicking off the company earnings season.
