2020 2 oz Silver Royal Canadian Mounted Police 100th Anniv RCMP Coin BU

Bullion Exchanges introduces one of the newest releases from the Royal Canadian Mint, the 2020 2 oz Silver Canadian Mounted Police Coin. This silver bullion coin commemorates the 100th anniversary of the formation of the famous Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). This unique Canadian Coin contains the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II’s grandfather King George V, instead of the usual Queen Elizabeth II bust. Struck with .9999 fine silver and weighing 2 troy ounces, this RCM exclusive coin will add quality value to any silver portfolio. Purchase one of these Canadian Silver Mountie coins before they gallop away!

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police commonly referred to as “Mounties”, were established in February 1920. Originally sent out to patrol the Western Frontier, Mounties have provided law enforcement services on a national scale and police eight of Canada’s provinces. While they have recently changed their transport method from horseback to automobiles, horses are still used at special ceremonial events, delighting crowds of all ages.

The obverse of the silver coin features the left-facing bust of King George V, adorned with royal garments and a large ornate crown. The establishment of the RCMP occurred during King George’s reign, from 1910 - 1936. The initials “B.M.” appear on King George’s shoulder for the artist Sir E.B. Mackennal who designed this stunning portrait.

The reverse of this commemorative coin displays artist Paul Cedarberg’s image of a Mountie on horseback, holding a Royal Canadian Mounted Police guidon. An added layer of security in the form of radial lines around the edge of the coin, as well as a micro-engraved maple leaf, provides bullion owners with peace of mind.
