The Royal Canadian Mint released palladium maple leaves from 2005-2007, as well as in 2009 and 2015. These Canadian Palladium coins are composed of one ounce of .9995 pure palladium and are considered to be legal tender in Canada. Palladium coins are a form of coinage made out of the rare silver-white transition metal, palladium.
Sierra Leone issued the first palladium coins in 1966. Since then a number of countries have issued palladium coins, including but not limited to Canada, the Soviet Union, and Australia. Most of these have been special commemorative coins.
With low mintages of 70,000 coins per year minted, the Palladium Canadian Maple Leaf is a highly sought out and collectible coin.
